How Many LED Panels Do I Need?

How Many LED Panels do I need?
We regularly get asked “how many LED Panels do I need to light a room xxxx big?”
The answer depends on the function of the room and the level of lighting you need. For example, a good office lighting level is around 400-450 lux, but for workshops you should aim for a light level of around 600 lux.
We’ve worked through a couple of examples below, based on recent custom lighting projects we’ve completed. These are basic designs for a 10m x 10m room.
First Example:
The above has 16 x 36w LED Panels, the ceiling is 3m high and the work plane is 0.75m (standard desk height).
This will provide you with a nice even lux level between 250-440 lux across the room, making it a perfect office lighting level.
Second Example:
This design has 24 x 36w LED Panels. Again, the ceiling is 3m high and the work plane is 0.75m (standard desk height).
This will provide you with a nice even lux level around 600 lux across the room, ideal for workshops or similar working environments.
You can browse our LED Panels in our LED Shop. The Panel used in these examples is the 36w LED Panel. We’ve also recently introduced a new 26W Ultra Efficient LED Panel.
